20-year-old Shukurat Oladipo has joined AS Roma Women from Nigerian club FC Robo Queens.
The Italian club announced the acquisition in a statement on Tuesday, revealing that Oladipo has signed a one-and-a-half-year deal that will keep her at the club until June 30, 2027.
Oladipo is a versatile player who can play in both defense and midfield, Oladipo is expected to bring wealth of experience to her new team.
She made 178 appearances for FC Robo Queens in the Nigerian Women’s Football League (NWFL) before her departure.
Oladipo’s impressive credentials also include being a member of the Falconets squad that won silver at the 2024 African Games in Ghana.
She also participated in the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia, playing in all four of the Falconets’ games. Additionally, she has earned two caps with the Super Falcons.
Reacting to her move, Oladipo described joining AS Roma as “life-changing” and expressed her excitement about the opportunities that lie ahead. “It will help my career grow as a person and as a versatile footballer passionate about the game,” she said.
AS Roma Women have enjoyed significant success in recent years, winning the last two Serie A titles in Italy. Although the team is currently third in the league table, behind Inter Milan and Juventus, Oladipo’s arrival is expected to bolster their chances of reclaiming the top spot.
