The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, will present a ceremonial beaded crown to High Chief Rashidi Ladoja, the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland today.

The event will take place at the Olubadan Palace in Oke Aremo, Ibadan.

This significant ceremony marks Ladoja’s inclusion among the esteemed beaded-crown-wearing monarchs in Ibadan.

The 79-year old Former Governor of Oyo State had publicly accepted the honor during a live radio program in Ibadan.

Since then, his Bodija residence has been bustling with visitors, including Governor Seyi Makinde, Chief Bode Amao (Asiwaju of Ibadanland), and other prominent figures like Chiefs Bayo Oyero, Wole Akinwande, Yemisi Adeaga, and Niyi Ajewole.

Today’s Olubadan-in-Council meeting, where the beaded crown will be presented, is the inaugural session of the highest decision-making body of the Ibadan chieftaincy system since the new Olubadan assumed office on July 12.

This presentation fulfills the state’s extant laws regarding the Olubadan declaration and ascendancy. All preparations are complete, with the Oluwo Afobaje of Ibadanland set to bless the crown before its presentation.
