The Kwara State Government has circulated an image claiming to show military intervention following the recent bandit attack on Oke-Odo community in Patigi Local Government Area.

Checks by The YorΓΉbΓ‘ Times (TYT) reveal that the image is not recent. A reverse search shows that the photograph was first published on October 28, 2024, in reports detailing Nigerian Air Force (NAF) airstrikes that targeted terrorist meeting points in Borno State.

The image, which displays a drone camera feed with the caption β€œTARGET ACQUIRED AND ENGAGED”, was presented by the state government as evidence of a military response to the Oke-Odo killings. However, TYT findings confirm that it was taken nearly a year ago and unrelated to the incident in Kwara.

This verification indicates that no authentic photographic or video evidence has yet been provided by the Kwara authorities to support claims of immediate security deployment in the affected community.
