EFCC apprehends 13 suspected internet scammers in Sokoto

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Sokoto Zonal Directorate arrested 13 suspected internet fraudsters.

The arrest took place on Saturday, September 28, 2024.

The suspects were apprehended in the Gidan Yaro and Dandima areas of Sokoto following actionable intelligence on their alleged involvement in internet-related offenses.

The commission announced that β€œAll the suspects claimed to be students of Usman Danfodio University Sokoto”

According to EFCC, β€œThose arrested claimed to be students of Usman Danfodio University Sokoto. They will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations.

“The commission will continue to track and bring to justice individuals engaging in fraudulent activities,” EFCC said.
