The Saudi Arabian government has granted permission for the burial of Nigerian business legend, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, in the revered city of Madina.

Following his passing on Friday night in Abu Dhabi at 94, after a short illness, arrangements are underway to lay him to rest beside his late wife, Hajiya Rabi’a Dantata, as per his last wish.

Alhaji Mustapha Abdullahi Junaidu, the late billionaire’s Private Principal Secretary, announced the development via a Facebook post on Sunday, stating: “Alhamdulillah, I have received approval to take Aminu Alhassan Dantata from Abu Dhabi to Madina.

“He will be buried tomorrow morning by the grace of Allah.”

Prior to the burial, hundreds of mourners, including prominent figures like Deputy Senate President Senator Barau Jibrin, gathered in Kano on Saturday for a special Islamic funeral prayer, Salatul Ga’ib, held in absentia.

As a respected business leader and philanthropist, Alhaji Aminu Dantata leaves behind a legacy of significant contributions to Nigeria’s economic growth and development, particularly in the realms of commerce and industry.

His demise marks the end of an era for one of Nigeria’s most influential business dynasties.
