BREAKING: Fubara’s Loyalists Swept Aside as Wike’s Allies Take Full Control of Rivers APC Primaries

May 15, 2026 1 min read

Governor Siminalayi Fubara has suffered another major political blow as the APC House of Representatives Screening Committee disqualified three serving Reps members loyal to him from participating in tomorrow’s primaries. Meanwhile, all allies of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, including Speaker Martin Amaewhule, have been cleared.

The disqualified Fubara loyalists are Hon. Anderson Alisson, Hon. Abiante Awaji Imombek, and Hon. Boma Goodhead. They were among the lawmakers who sided with Fubara during the Rivers political crisis and later defected with him to the APC.

Cleared Wike allies include Speaker Martin Amaewhule, Hon. Hart Cyril, Hon. Blessing Amadi, Hon. Dumnamene Detor, Hon. Solomon Bob, Hon. Uche Felix Nwaeke, and Hon. Victor Chukwuemele Obuzor.

Amaewhule replaces OK Chinda, who reportedly purchased APC governorship forms. The fourth defector, Boniface Sunday Emerengwa, is said to have obtained Senate nomination forms, but the final list is not yet out.

The move signals total control of Rivers APC by the Minister of the FCT as the party’s primaries approach.
