Bashir Hadeja arrested for alleged treason, arms trafficking, and International crimes

Nigerian authorities have apprehended Bashir Hadeja on charges of treason, gun-running, and transnational crimes. Hadeja, notorious for money laundering and illicit activities.

He was arrested following allegations of smuggling weapons and stolen gold from Libya.

Allegation against him includes involvement in aiding terrorism and other forms of criminality in the northern states of Nigeria along with his sponsors, blackmailing,the attack on Jigawa APC headquarters among others.

However, he has confessed to a litany of crimes, including sponsoring protests, blackmailing officials, and perpetrating violence. The revelations came after sustained interrogations by security forces.

The suspect also admitted to financing a large number of youths who participated in the recent #EndBadGovernance protests in Kano, Kaduna, Jigawa, and Abuja.

He also confessed to involvement in schemes aimed at blackmailing politicians and government officials.

Furthermore, the suspect acknowledged sponsoring the attack on the Jigawa State APC headquarters.

A video showed the suspect displaying gold bars featuring Gaddafi’s statue, believed stolen from the Libyan Central Bank (worth one ton).

The suspect is cooperating, naming sponsors and allies, including a former DSS director. This investigation has uncovered a complex web of criminal activities, with further developments expected.
