Alaafin pledges support for Tinubu’s administration, seeks collaboration for national development

The Alaafin of Oyo, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade I, paid a courtesy visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the State House in Abuja, reaffirming the traditional institution’s commitment to national development.

The monarch was accompanied by a delegation of prominent chiefs and dignitaries from Oyo State.

During the visit, the Alaafin expressed gratitude for the warm reception accorded to him by the President, describing it as a mark of Tinubu’s statesmanship and regard for traditional institutions.

He commended the President’s leadership and vision for the country, noting that Nigerians look up to him for restoration, justice, equity, and inclusive progress.

The Alaafin pledged the support of the Oyo Empire and the Yoruba nation for Tinubu’s administration, offering partnership in driving national development. He highlighted the potential of Oyo State and the Yoruba region, citing their resourcefulness, eager youth, and rich cultural heritage.

The monarch also acknowledged the Federal Government’s efforts in unlocking development across key sectors, including economic reform, infrastructural development, social welfare, agriculture, youth empowerment, security, education, and cultural preservation.

In his remarks, the Alaafin called for collaboration between traditional institutions and modern governance, emphasizing that national transformation can only be achieved when both work hand in hand.

He proposed making the Oyo Empire a model of regional development, echoing the greatness of its past and aligning with Tinubu’s vision for a prosperous Nigeria.

The Alaafin concluded by praying for the President’s administration, seeking divine guidance, wisdom, and strength to unify and uplift the nation. .
