The Deji of Akure, Oba Aladelusi Aladetoyinbo, has announced that all markets and shops in the city will be closed on Tuesday, August 27, in observance of the Aheregbe festival.

According to a statement from his spokesman, Micheal Adeyeye, shutting down markets and shops is a crucial aspect of adhering to this long-standing tradition.

The statement specifies, “As a result, there will be no market operations, trading, or shop openings during the festival.”

“However, the festival will not affect human or vehicular movement in any way.”
