A new film project is set to bring the life and legacy of the late Alhaji Adegoke Adelabu to the big screen. The film, which is being produced by IMODOYE MEDIA CONCEPT (IMC), will chronicle Adelabu’s remarkable life, from his early days as a young politician to his rise as a prominent leader in Nigeria’s Western Region.

According to Oloye ‘Lekan Alabi, Maye Olubadan of Ibadanland and Consultant to IMC, the film will provide a unique opportunity to showcase Adelabu’s contributions to Nigeria’s development.

β€œAdegoke Adelabu was a true patriot and a visionary leader who dedicated his life to serving his people,” Alabi said.

β€œThis film will help to immortalize his legacy and inspire future generations of Nigerians.”

The film project was announced during a meeting between Alabi and the executive directors of IMC, Barrister Femi Kehinde and Chief Samuel Kayode. IMC is a renowned production company that has produced several acclaimed films and books, including biographies of prominent Nigerians such as Chief Samuel Ladoke Akintola and Mrs. Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti.

“Adegoke Adelabu’s life is a testament to the power of hard work, determination, and leadership,” said Barrister Kehinde.

“We are honored to have the opportunity to tell his story and share it with the world.”

The film is expected to go into production soon, with a release date slated for later this year. Alabi expressed his excitement about the project, saying, “I am confident that this film will be a fitting tribute to Adegoke Adelabu’s memory and a valuable contribution to Nigeria’s cultural heritage.”

Adelabu, who was also known as “Penkelemesi,” was a prominent politician and leader in Nigeria’s Western Region during the 1950s. He served as the first African Manager of the UAC, Nigeria’s first pre-independence Minister of Natural Resources and Social Welfare Development, Chairman of the Ibadan District Council, and Leader of Opposition in the Western Region House of Assembly.

He died in a road accident on March 25, 1958, at the age of 43.
