President in UAE to Resolve Bilateral Disagreements

September 11, 2023 2 min read

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu last night arrived in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirate (UAE) from New Delhi.

His stop-over in the oil-rich country after attending the G-20 Leadership Summit, will afford him the opportunity of engaging with the UAE leadership on issues bothering on bilateral relations.

The Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President, Ajuri Ngelale, said his boss would be furthering discussion on earlier conversations initiated with the Ambassador of the UAE to Nigeria, Salem Saeed Al-Shamsi last month.

In a statement, the presidential spokesman said that besides the talks already scheduled with the Emirate’s authority, the President would also advance his administration’s investment drive by engaging other public and private sector authorities in the country.

The statement read: “President Bola Tinubu will meet with the leadership of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) during a technical stopover in Abu Dhabi, UAE, after the President’s departure from New Delhi, India.

“The meeting will serve as a follow-up discussion to address specific, salient issues within the bilateral relationship after conversations held during a recent visit by the UAE Ambassador to the President at the State House in Abuja.

“The President is to address lingering bilateral issues while maximising the opportunity of the stopover to equally advance his investment promotion objectives with high-level authorities in the public and private sectors of the United Arab Emirates.”

The President, he stated, was due to return home after the talks in the UAE.

The state further read: “Following a successful investment drive on the sidelines of the G-20 Summit, active participation in the G-20 Summit, and a productive stopover in the UAE, the President is expected to return to Abuja immediately following the bilateral engagement.”
