Nigerian-born content creator Bemi Orojuogun, popularly known as ‘London Bus Aunty,’ has received a major endorsement from the UK’s new Prime Minister, Andy Burnham, as he announced a £2 cap on single bus fares across England .

The moment, which has quickly gone viral, shows Burnham copying Orojuogun’s signature content style by holding up a phone as a bus moves behind him. “Who better, though, to endorse this policy than a special guest?” he asked, before inviting the TikTok sensation to join him .

Orojuogun, who has over 200,000 followers for her videos of London’s iconic red double-decker buses, jokingly told the Prime Minister: “Oh, Prime Minister, you’re stealing my job!” . Burnham responded by declaring the policy “endorsed by Bus Aunty herself,” while she praised the decision as “a fantastic idea” .

The £2 cap will apply to bus services across England outside London from January 1, 2027, until December 31, 2027, replacing the current £3 fare cap . The government said the measure could reduce some fares by up to a third and help millions of passengers struggling with rising living costs .

Orojuogun’s appearance with the new Prime Minister has cemented her status as one of the UK’s most influential creators. A mental health nurse who moved to the UK in the early 1990s, she has previously collaborated with brands including Burberry, IKEA, and the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan .
