Security operatives in Adamawa State have intercepted more than 500 foreign nationals from Niger Republic who were being transported into the state in several trucks.
The travellers were stopped along the Gombe–Adamawa boundary during a coordinated operation involving the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigeria Immigration Service, and the military.
According to security sources, the individuals were unable to provide credible explanations for their mass movement into the country or present any valid travel documents to justify their entry.
Following preliminary screening, immigration officers, supported by the police and military personnel, escorted the group back toward the Gombe–Adamawa border and out of the state.
Authorities say the operation was part of heightened surveillance measures aimed at preventing irregular migration and strengthening internal security across the region.
Further investigations are expected to continue to determine the motive behind the attempted entry.
