The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, will this Friday preside over the promotion of seven senior chiefs in the Otun Olubadan line at the Olubadan Palace, Oke Aremo.

The promotion exercise will see Senior Chief Lekan Alabi elevated from Maye Olubadan to Abese Olubadan, while Senior Chief Akin Fijabi will move from Ekefa Olubadan to Maye Olubadan. Senior Chief Saka Fola Lapade is set to become Ekefa Olubadan, and former Senate Leader Senior Chief Teslim Folarin, currently Aare Alaasa Olubadan, will be promoted to Agbaakin Olubadan.

Additionally, Senior Chief Muibi Adewuyi will advance from Ikolaba Olubadan to Aare Alasa Olubadan, Chief Raufu Delesolu to Ikolaba Olubadan, and Chief Hammed Lanihun from Ayingun Olubadan to Asaju Olubadan.

The promotion exercise is part of a wider process that began two weeks ago following Oba Ladoja’s emergence as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland. The previous phase involved the promotion of five Olubadan-in-Council members, and the remaining nine chiefs in the Otun Olubadan line are expected to participate in the next round of promotions.
