Former Niger Delta militant leader, Asari Dokubo, has warned US President Donald Trump against carrying out any military action in Nigeria following allegations of attacks on Christians.

In a viral Facebook video, the former leader of the Niger Delta People’s Volunteer Force said any American soldiers attempting to intervene would be killed. He described the United States as a “sick country” and criticised its foreign policy.

He said: “Let Trump come with his America, they will all die. This lunatic wants to annex Canada, he wants Iceland, wants to kill the president of Venezuela, he wants to kill the Supreme Leader of Iran. That is why when they talk of America, I say it is a sick country, a country of mad people.”

Asari referenced past US military engagements, asking rhetorically whether the United States succeeded in Vietnam, and insisted Nigerians would resist any foreign military presence.

He also addressed claims of targeted killings in Nigeria, saying: “Everybody knows that people are being killed left, right and centre. This is not a lie. But is it Muslim or Christian? I am a Muslim who is in the oasis of non-Muslim.”

Asari accused Western nations of selective outrage, citing conflicts in Congo, Gaza, and Sudan, and questioned why some crises attract immediate attention while others do not.

The video has circulated widely on social media. Authorities have not responded to Asari’s remarks as of publication time.
