Think Yorùbá First (TYF) has officially launched the TYF Empowerment Credit Scheme, a new initiative aimed at promoting financial inclusion, supporting small businesses, and empowering women across Yorùbá communities.

The scheme, which was unveiled on Tuesday, marks a major step in TYF’s commitment to fostering economic growth and self-reliance among the Yorùbá people. Through the initiative, women entrepreneurs and small business owners will gain access to low-interest loans, financial training, and business development support designed to strengthen local economies.

According to TYF, the Empowerment Credit Scheme is part of its broader vision to create sustainable economic opportunities within the Yorùbá Nation, focusing on empowering women as key drivers of community development.

“The TYF Empowerment Credit Scheme is about giving our women the financial tools and confidence to grow their businesses and transform their families,” the organization stated during the launch. “By empowering one woman, we uplift an entire community.”

Beneficiaries of the programme are expected to undergo financial literacy sessions and mentorship to ensure accountability and long-term success.
The initiative has been widely praised as a timely response to the economic challenges facing small business owners, particularly women, across the Southwest and other Yorùbá-speaking regions.
