President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commissioned the newly revamped Wole Soyinka National Arts Theatre in Lagos, marking a new era for Nigeria’s creative and cultural industries. The Director-General of the National Council on Climate Change (NCCC), Tenioye Majekodunmi, was part of the presidential delegation at the historic event.

In a strategic development, the NCCC announced a partnership with the National Theatre to design and implement climate change focused programmes and initiatives. The collaboration aims to leverage the power of art and culture to drive public awareness, inspire innovation, and foster global cooperation on environmental sustainability.

Officials say the initiative will transform the iconic National Theatre into a creative hub for climate advocacy, positioning Nigeria’s climate action agenda prominently on the world stage.
