The Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has ratified the suspension of Senator Gbenga Daniel and Hon. Kunle Folarin for alleged anti-party activities.

In a statement issued after its meeting on Monday, August 19, the State Working Committee (SWC) of the party, chaired by the State Chairman, Chief Yemi Sanusi, said the decision followed recommendations from the disciplinary committees set up by the respective wards of the suspended members.

According to the statement, Ward 4 of Sagamu Local Government investigated allegations of misconduct and anti-party activities against Senator Daniel, while Ward 6 of the same LGA probed similar allegations against Hon. Folarin.

The committees reportedly invited both members in writing to appear and present their defense or seek pardon. However, the party noted that neither Daniel nor Folarin honored the invitations, nor did they provide written defenses.

“In view of their deliberate and unexplained absences, the Committees deliberated as scheduled, heard from the available witnesses, considered the available documentary evidence, and deliberated on the allegations,” the statement read.

Consequently, the SWC affirmed the suspensions, emphasizing that discipline within the party remained paramount.
