A heartbroken man has taken to social media to lament the demolition of his home by the Imo State Government. According to him, the property was built with millions of naira, and he received no compensation or prior notice before the destruction.

In an emotional video that has since gone viral, the man can be heard saying, “After spending millions of naira to build this house, the government of Imo State came and demolished it without compensation. Now I’m homeless and on the streets.”

The demolition reportedly took place as part of a wider government exercise aimed at reclaiming land for urban development or infrastructure expansion, though specifics remain unclear. The man, however, insists that his house was legally acquired and properly documented.

The incident has sparked outrage online, with many Nigerians calling on the government to provide transparency on the demolition process and ensure justice for affected residents. As at press time, the Imo State Government is yet to release an official statement regarding the demolition.
