Lagos LG Elections: Speaker Obasa Praises Peaceful Voting Process

The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has cast his ballot in the ongoing local government elections, expressing satisfaction with the peaceful and orderly conduct of the polls. Obasa voted at Polling Unit 019, Ward E, on Oluwole Olaniyan Street, Orile Agege, Lagos, and later spoke to journalists about the voting process.

According to Obasa, the electoral process has been largely peaceful, with no major incidents reported. “So far, the process has been peaceful and without any form of disruption,” he said.

The Speaker commended Lagos residents for turning out to exercise their democratic rights, emphasizing the importance of civic participation in shaping the future of the state.Obasa encouraged all eligible voters to participate in the electoral process, stressing that voting is not only a right but also a responsibility. “It is good to see citizens exercising their democratic rights,” he said.

“It is important we all take part. Voting is both a right and a responsibility. Everyone should fulfil this civic duty.”

The Speaker’s applaud reflect the overall mood of the elections, which have been characterized by a sense of calm and orderliness.
