A disturbing threat has emerged from a northern police officer, Hadaina Hussaini Dan-Taki, who vowed to take revenge on southerners living in the North in one week.

This threat is allegedly in response to the recent mob attack in Edo state, where a group of northern vigilantes were killed by local residents.

According to reports, the vigilantes were intercepted and murdered by a mob in the Uromi community of Esan North Local Government Area of Edo State.

The victims were accused of being kidnappers, leading to the brutal attack.

President Bola Tinubu has since condemned the attack, describing it as a “dastardly act” and vowing that those responsible would face justice.

In a Facebook post, Dan-Taki wrote, “I swear to Almighty God, we must do something for you guys, have you forgotten all your brothers that are leaving here in the North… we make my word, after one week you shall see the result.”

This threat has raised concerns about the escalating tensions between northern and southern Nigeria.

The incident has sparked outrage, with many calling for improved security measures to curb extrajudicial killings and ensure justice for the slain vigilantes.

The Edo state government has been working to prevent further escalation of tensions in the area. Governor Monday Okpebholo and community leaders in Uromi have been commended for their prompt intervention.

As the situation continues to unfold, authorities are urged to take immediate action to address the growing tensions and prevent further violence.
