Lagelu FM’s management has issued a letter of apology to the Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, following derogatory remarks made by Dr. Doyin Odebowale, a guest on the station’s program, BOSENLO.

The remarks were aired on January 25, 2025.

In the apology letter, Lagelu FM’s management distanced themselves from the views expressed by Dr. Odebowale, stating that they represented his personal opinions and not those of the station.

The management also acknowledged that subtle attempts were made to caution Dr. Odebowale during the broadcast.

The apology comes after the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) Ibadan Zonal Office wrote to Lagelu FM on January 31, 2025, following a complaint about Dr. Odebowale’s utterances.

Lagelu FM’s management assured the Soun of Ogbomosoland that they hold his throne in high esteem and would not intentionally denigrate his person or office.

As part of their efforts to remedy the situation, Lagelu FM aired an on-air apology on February 1, 2025, with a second apology scheduled for February 8, 2025.

The Oyo State House of Assembly has also condemned Dr. Odebowale’s remarks, describing them as derogatory and unacceptable.
