The National Organising Secretary of Afenifere, Abagun Kole Omololu, has criticized Vice President Kashim Shettima’s remarks on Kemi Badenoch, leader of Britain’s Conservative Party, as “undiplomatic.”.

Omololu blamed Shettima for provoking Badenoch’s reaction, emphasizing that “at a level of international diplomacy, we have to be cautious.”

Omololu stressed that Shettima should focus on government policy and programs, rather than Badenoch’s personal experience.

“Her office is as important as that of the office of the Prime Minister. We should respect her office,” he said.

Moreover, Omololu suggested that Shettima should have sought the opinions of trained diplomats before speaking. “If he had, he would have been more cautious,” he added.

In a cultural context, Omololu noted that individuals like Badenoch, who were born and raised in the UK, tend to speak forthrightly.

“Maybe Badenoch is knocking sense into our situation,” he said.

This development comes as Sunday Igboho, a Yoruba nation activist, called on President Bola Tinubu to caution Shettima over his attacks on Badenoch.
