In a bid to promote sustainable energy solutions in Africa, Adegoke Adewale Aliu, a native of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria, has constructed a local biogas that leverage on animal waste and food waste to generate gas.

Aliu embarked on a remarkable journey to Qatar between 2021 and 2023 with a mission to acquire expertise in clean energy, particularly biogas technology.

During his time in Qatar, Aliu attended a technical college and honed his skills in various hands-on trades.

Upon his return to Nigeria, he successfully constructed a local biogas plant using locally made materials thats leverages on animal waste and food waste to generate gas.

Speaking to The Yoruba Times, Aliu said, “This innovative technology has the potential to replace fossil fuels,”

He added “The gas produced can be utilized for electricity generation, cooking, and other energy needs.”

Aliu’s vision extends beyond his current achievement. He aspires to establish a school dedicated to teaching Nigerian youths about clean energy and training them to generate energy from waste.

“I want to empower the next generation with the knowledge and skills to drive Nigeria’s transition to sustainable energy,” he emphasized.

Aliu’s expertise has already garnered significant attention. He has been invited by numerous schools and universities across Nigeria to conduct training sessions for students.

“Government support is crucial to scaling up this initiative,” Aliu appealed.

“With collaboration, we can create a cleaner, more sustainable energy future for Nigeria.”

However, As Nigeria continues to grapple with energy challenges, with the recent hike in Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) price, Aliu’s pioneering efforts offers a beacon of hope to Nigerians.

His commitment to clean energy and youth empowerment is poised to inspire a new wave of sustainable development in the country.

Biogas technology as been said by many experts to be a viable alternative to fossil fuels as the world gathers every year, clamoring to end fossil fuel.
