The Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has issued a stern warning to store and shopping plaza owners in the state stating that any establishment that remains closed on Mondays due to the Indigenous People of Biafra’s (IPOB) sit-at-home directive will be sealed off.

The IPOB’s directive, initially announced to protest the detention of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, has caused significant disruptions in the state’s economy and daily life.

Governor Soludo’s warning aims to encourage businesses to operate as usual, despite the IPOB’s directive.

“The State Government will no longer tolerate the unnecessary disruption of economic activities,” Soludo stated. “We urge all business owners to ignore the sit-at-home directive and open their establishments on Mondays.”

Soludo’s administration has been working tirelessly to address the underlying issues driving the IPOB’s movement, with the goal of promoting peace and stability in the region.

The Governor has engaged in dialogue with various stakeholders and implemented initiatives to address economic and social concerns.

The Anambra State Government has assured citizens that measures are in place to ensure their safety and security. “We will not allow a handful of individuals to dictate the pace of our economic growth,” Soludo emphasized.

Business owners and residents have welcomed the Governor’s stance, expressing optimism that the move will revitalize the state’s economy.

“We commend Governor Soludo for taking a firm stance against the IPOB’s directive,” said Chika Okoye, a local business owner. “We are eager to resume normal business operations and contribute to the state’s growth.”

The Anambra State Government has warned that any individual or group found enforcing the sit-at-home directive would face the full weight of the law.

As the state continues to navigate the complex issues surrounding the IPOB’s movement, Governor Soludo’s leadership has been praised for its commitment to promoting economic development and stability in the region.
