Troops of Operation Forest Sanity eliminate bandits and recover weapons and ammunition in Kaduna State

On 9th June 2023, troops from Operation Forest Sanity, in collaboration with the Defence Headquarters Special Forces, carried out a covert operation in the bandits’ hideouts in Maidaro village, located in the Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State. During the operation, they encountered terrorists and engaged in a firefight.

As a result, six terrorists were neutralised, and a significant amount of weaponry was seized. The recovered items include five AK-47 rifles, 192 rounds of 7.62 x 39 mm Special ammunition, 74 rounds of 7.62 x 54 mm Special ammunition, nine AK-47 rifle magazines, three improvised explosive devices (IEDs), three Baofeng radios, one PKM machine gun, three motorcycles, and various other miscellaneous items.

Major General Musa Danmadami, the Director of Defence Media Operations at the Defence Headquarters, expressed in a press release on 9th June 2023, that the military high command praises the efforts of the troops involved in Operation Forest Sanity. The public is also encouraged to provide credible and timely information to the troops regarding terrorist activities and all other forms of criminality in their respective areas.
