OlojoFestival2024: Ooni of Ife launches celebration of Yoruba heritage

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has officially launched the 2024 Olojo Festival, a five-day celebration honoring Yoruba land’s rich cultural heritage and traditions.

Scheduled to take place from September 26 to 30, 2024, the festival commemorates the creation of the world according to Yoruba mythology and pays homage to ancestral spirits.

The festival will feature various events, including the Ayo Olopon Traditional Game, Festival Cultural Talent Hunt Audition, and Olojo Festival Colloquium.

These activities aim to showcase the community’s cultural pride and preserve its history.

The detailed schedule of events is as follows:

September 26: Ayo Olopon Traditional Game, Festival Cultural Talent Hunt Audition, and Olojo Festival Colloquium

September 27: Ojo Ilagun, Iwode Ile-Ife (Community Cleansing) and Oonirisa’s Terrestrial Message to the World

September 28: Festival Grand Finale Official Ceremony, Ojo Okemogun, and the Aare Cultural Procession

September 29: Ojo Ajoyo (Asekagba), Grand Royal

Reception – Invitational, Adire Oodua Cultural Exchange Exhibition, and Oonirisa’s Ife Award for Community Service, 2024

September 30: Ojo Ibile (Oonirisa’s Ancestral Traditional Propitiation) and Cultural Talents Hunt (Final)
