Akeredolu Call for Restructuring for Nigeria to progress

Ondo State Governor, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, highlighted the need to reassess the current socio-political structure in Nigeria for the purpose of progress and development. He emphasized the importance of a comprehensive restructuring of the nation, aiming to deepen democratic gains.

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Richard Olatunde.Governor Akeredolu regarded Democracy Day as a reminder of the significance of upholding principles such as equity and fairness. He urged the public to reflect on the importance of June 12 and honor the sacrifices made by Nigeria’s democratic heroes.

The statement emphasized that June 12 holds a significant place in the nation’s democratic history, symbolizing renewed hope and ambition despite formidable obstacles.Akeredolu emphasized that the well-being of the people should be the foremost priority, calling for unity among Nigerians to collectively improve the country. He also urged the newly appointed administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ensure a comprehensive validation of the hopes of Nigerians.The governor stressed the undeniable need for restructuring, advocating for the federal government to reduce its excessive control over sub-national entities.
