The police’s ongoing investigation into the group’s subversive plans is being helped by the suspects who were recently detained.
After Yoruba Nation protesters stormed a station early on Sunday, according to police authorities in Lagos, several of its staff members were hurt. Two agitators were detained in the Lagos neighbourhood of Alausa, according to SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the state police command’s spokesperson.
The 15 agitators attacked the Alausa Police Division at around 5:35 a.m. today, yelling, “Yoruba Nation has taken over,” and hurt some police officers who tried to disperse them, according to Mr. Hundeyin.

Nonetheless, he claimed that after the police intervened, the remaining so called activists left.

“The accused invaded Alausa Division with others at approximately the same time as another group was attempting to take over a radio station in Ibadan, Oyo State. They were caught with charms, deadly weapons, and other offensive insignias bearing the Yoruba Nation Army.

They claimed to have come to officially notify the police that the United Nations had given the Yoruba Nation permission to launch, the man alleged.

He claimed that the detained individuals are now supporting the authorities in their ongoing inquiry into the group’s subversive plans.

According to him, the state’s primary internal security interest is being served by the suspects’ network of sponsors being promptly revealed and brought to justice.

According to the police image maker, CP Idowu Owohunwa, the state’s commissioner of police, has cautioned subversive elements to stay out of the state or face the wrath of the law.

“The command is fully prepared and has the strength of character and an operational mindset to apply the full force of the law to them or to any other elements that might try to undermine the steady security order in Lagos.

“The command is well prepared, has a strong desire to uphold the law, and is operationally oriented to deal with them and any other elements that might try to undermine the steady security order in Lagos.

Before, during, and after the May 29, 2023, inauguration, he declared, “The command would effectively suppress any ill-advised individuals or groups under any nomenclature who could be seeking to test the will of law enforcement operatives of the command.”
