More Nigerians have taken to social media to lament the excessive presence of fake products in Nigeria varying from drinks to packaged foods, drugs and even toiletries.
Nigerians banded together online to call on NAFDAC to investigate and call for a solution to the rise of so many fake products in the Nigerian market.
This comes as the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control on Monday destroyed fake products worth N750m.
According to NAFDAC Director-General, Prof Mojisola Adeyeye, the agency intercepted counterfeiters involved in the production of variety of fake beverages including wines, soft drinks, and other products in the Eziukwu Market in Aba, Abia State.
According to Prof Adeyeye, the feat was achieved through collaboration with other security agencies following an intelligent tip-off.
As Nigerians continue an unofficial agency work with ‘Fake Products’ trending on social media, images of fake and original products have flooded X, formerly called Twitter with 59.1K posts as of the time of filing this story.
