A German-based technology company, Lecturio, said it has partnered approximately 40 universities and colleges in Nigeria and other African countries to bring ease to medical education challenges across the continent.

The Director of Institutional Partnerships of the company in Africa, Dr. Lutze Mukke, in a statement sent to our correspondent on Wednesday, said through the partnerships, Nigerian institutions could now get their own tailor-made courses and curriculum.

Mükke noted that the company also provided support to educators by offering them capacity training opportunities.

“In Africa, we have established collaborations with approximately 40 universities and colleges through institutional partnerships so far. We are just starting in Nigeria and see great opportunities for all involved. Moreover, we engage with the Ministries of Health and Education on large-scale capacity-building projects on national levels.

“Through these partnerships, institutions get their own tailor-made digital learning and teaching academies tailored to their unique needs, courses, and curricula – with their own name, logo, and corporate design colour.

“The partner institutions then provide access to their learners, educators, and managers within their organisations and can administer and manage their own academies. The platform delivers analytics about the learning performance of individuals and aggregated data on different levels. You can manage secure online exams and large-scale education interventions for tens of thousands of learners and educators – data-based, learning-science-based, transparent, supported by AI.”

Speaking on the costs, Mükke noted that the rates offered institutions in Africa was significantly lower than rates on the company’s website while also stressing the fact that the learning platform was highly cost-efficient.

“We offer rates for institutional partnerships in Africa, which differ significantly from rates on our website. They are highly cost-efficient, sustainable, and tailored to the specific needs and situations of the institutions.

“With an institutional partnership we also provide support to partners through train-the-trainer seminars and online webinars for students, making the integration of digital education into daily routines effective, ultimately leading to improved learning and teaching outcomes. By the way, pass rates go up by 50% if you learn and teach with Lecturio. Students love us and lecturers too because we reduce their stress burden and workload significantly”, he said.
