A 37-year-old billionaire, Srettha Thavisin, has been elected as Thailand’s new Prime Minister.

Shinawatra, who founded the successful property development company, Sansiri, becomes the country’s youngest-ever leader.

The current PM is not just the youngest ever elected but also the second female to hold the position.

Shinawatra, the daughter of former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, political journey began with her involvement in the Pheu Thai Party, founded by her father. She quickly made a name for herself as a charismatic leader, mobilizing young supporters and showcasing her political acumen. Her appointment as Deputy Leader in 2019 and subsequent leadership of the party’s campaign for constitutional reform cemented her position as a rising star.
