25 Suspects Remanded for Forging Kano Traffic Agency’s Receipts

A Kano Magistrate Court on Tuesday ordered the remand of one Aminu Salisu, Kamilu Yusuf, Baba Jibril and 22 other accomplices who were allegedly arrested in possession of forged documents belonging to Kano Road Traffic Agency.

Arraigning the defendants before the Chief Magistrate court, presided over by Halima Wali, on 3-count charge, Tijjani Ibrahim told the court that the defendants allegedly committed the offence on 22nd July, 2023.

He said the offence contravened Section 97, 393,.321 and Penal Code.

When the content of First Information Reports were read over to them, they pleaded not guilty.

Consequently, counsel for the defendants, Nazifi Rabiu, prayed the court to admit the defendants to bail, pursuant to Section 35, (6), 36 (5) of the Constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended), 171, (3) of the Adminstration of Criminal Justice Law, Kano State 2019.

The presiding magistrate, Halima Wali, adjourned the sitting to July 27, for ruling on the bail application by the counsel for the defendants.
