A horrific incident has unfolded in the Aji community of Enugu-Ezike, Igbo Eze North Local Government Area, Enugu State, where a woman allegedly killed her younger sister with a cutlass.

The suspect, whose identity remains unknown, also attempted to harm her mother and her younger sister’s child.

According to eyewitnesses, the suspect appeared to be under some form of influence, and in a video shared on Facebook by Anyika TV, she confessed, “I was possessed by a strange being; it was not me that did it.”

The video shows the suspect in a visibly distressed state, claiming that her actions were beyond her control.

“I don’t know what came over me; I just saw myself with the cutlass and I started attacking them,” she said.

The suspect’s family is still reeling from the incident, with her mother and niece rushed to Bishop Shanahan Hospital in Nsukka, where they are battling for their lives.

“We are shocked and devastated by this incident; we don’t know what could have led her to do such a thing,” a family member said.

The Enugu State Police Command has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident, although the Command’s spokesperson, SP Daniel Ndukwe, was unavailable for comment at the time of filing this report.

Sources indicate that the police in Igbo-Eze North are working to uncover the events leading up to the incident.

The suspect’s claim of being “possessed” has raised questions about her mental state and the potential factors that contributed to her actions.
