Vigilante operatives in Kogi State have arrested two men accused of supplying food items to bandits operating in parts of Yagba East Local Government Area.

The suspects, identified as Abayo David and David Bori, both residents of Itedo-Ijowa, were reportedly apprehended around 4:00 a.m. on Wednesday during a routine patrol in the Itedo-Ijowa area of Isanlu.

Confirming the development in a post on his Facebook page, the spokesperson to the Chairman of Yagba West Local Government Area, Adeyemi Babarinde Sunday, described the arrest as a major breakthrough in the ongoing efforts to combat criminal activities in the region.

He added that security operatives have begun an investigation to determine whether the suspects have any connection to other accomplices or major terrorist groups.

The arrest follows renewed security operations across parts of Kogi State aimed at dismantling bandit camps and curbing the rising wave of abductions and armed attacks in border communities.
