The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has made disturbing discoveries during its ongoing enforcement operation at the Idumota open drug market in Lagos.

According to a statement released by the agency, officials uncovered a cache of unregistered narcotics, counterfeit medicines, and improperly stored vaccines.

The vaccines were shockingly found in toilets, highlighting the egregious disregard for safety protocols.

Further investigation revealed that expired condoms donated by USAID had been repackaged and sold under a different name.

Additionally, banned drugs, including Analgin, and medical products meant for cold chain storage were seized.

NAFDAC emphasized the severe health risks posed by these illicit products and vowed to continue its crackdown on counterfeit and substandard medicines.

The agency’s enforcement operation is ongoing, with officials working to dismantle illegal drug networks and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
