Super Eagles AFCON 2023 Provisional Squad Released

The Super Eagles provisional squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations has been released to the public.

According to a report in ACL Sports, head coach, Jose Peseiro listed 40 players on the provisional list.

Among the new additions on the list are goalkeepers, Stanley Nwabili and Christian Nwoke and Alhassan Yusuf

Peseiro will have to trim down the list to 27 players by January 3, 2024.

The Super Eagles are drawn in Group A with hosts Cote d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau.

The 3-time champions’ opening fixture is against Equatorial Guinea at the Alhassan Quattara Stadium, Ebimpe, Abidjan on January 14.
