November 10, 2023 1 min read

Oyo State civil servants and pensioners have started celebrations as the disbursement of Governor Seyi Makinde’s promised welfare package begins.

This was disclosed in a post by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on its official X handle on Friday, November 10.

It read: β€œCivil servants and pensioners in Oyo state are celebrating as they have begun receiving the welfare package promised by Governor Seyi Makinde earlier this week.

“The governor had announced the approval of N15,000 for each pensioner and N25,000 for each civil servant on the state’s payroll, with payments starting in October 2023 for six months to cushion the effect of the economic challenges faced in the country.

“Governor Makinde assured labour union leaders that his administration would work towards a more sustainable solution for the workers within the six-month period. He also emphasized his commitment to prioritizing the welfare of workers while meeting the needs of the people of Oyo State.”
