Sanwo-Olu Restates Commitment to Quality Education

September 27, 2023 2 min read

The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has assured residents of the state of his administration’s commitment to maintaining high quality education in the state.

The governor, who stated this at the unveiling of the Ogombo Senior High School in the Eti-Osa East Local Government Area donated by the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials, added that COWLSO under the leadership of his wife and chairman, Ibijoke, “has continued to be a dependable partner with the state government in actualising the vision of the administration in the area of education and technology which is one of the pillars of our T.H.E.M.E.S + Agenda.”

Sanwo-Olu said COWLSO, since its resuscitation in the year 2000 by the wife of the then governor of the state, Mrs Oluremi Tinubu, had played and continued to play a vital and complementary role in the efforts of the state government.

He added: “The inauguration of this purpose-built 15-classroom block is another success story in the efforts of our administration to provide educational infrastructure for effective learning and teaching in a conducive environment.

“It is very important to note that this block of classrooms, comprising three floors, was designed with adequate provision for the needs of physically challenged pupils. This is in compliance with global standards and our T.H.E.M.E.S.+ policy thrust of not leaving anyone behind.”

Earlier, the wife of the governor and Chairman of COWLSO, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, said the project was done in partnership with the Lagos State Committee on Rehabilitation of Public Schools.
