July 17, 2023 2 min read

The Co-ordinator, Progressive Empowerment Project for Nigerians, Comrade Olajumoke Omolola, an entrepreneur and environmental consultant presided over the inaugural meeting of the Lagos State chapter of the programme held on Saturday, 15th July, 2023, in Ikeja, Lagos.

In her welcome
address, Comrade Olajumoke stated that the empowerment project represented a bold step taken to address the worrisome issue of empowerment amongst Nigerian women.

PEP4NW, a laudable Empowerment initiative came on stream as a special gift of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, to open a wider window of empowerment opportunities for women across the country.

In the words of the Lagos State Co-ordinator, the time had come to rewrite the narrative of the Nigerian women, which will go a long way in giving women access to financial support; build up a means of livelihood; achieve growth in their enterprise; lessen their vulnerability as well as increase their economic and financial independence.

The National Co-ordinator, Comrade Ene Assumtemario Ogidi and Chairman, Hajia Zainab Abubakar, in their respective goodwill messages urged members to be good ambassadors of the project to make it take deep roots and consequently help raise the number of beneficiaries in their respective local government areas.

Members of PEP4NW Lagos State that attended the meeting came from local government areas and local council development areas in Lagos State.
