The Osun State Police Command has paraded Victor Fajemirokun, the boyfriend of the late Federal Road Safety Corps officer, Lasisi Funmilayo, alongside two herbalists linked to the killing of the officer and her daughter, Sewa Lasisi.

Fajemirokun, 40, was paraded on Wednesday at the command headquarters in Osogbo with two herbalists, Gboyega Daramola and Sunday James, after investigations tied them to the murder, which police say was carried out for ritual purposes.

Funmilayo, a 39-year-old FRSC senior officer serving in Ogun State, and her daughter were declared missing earlier in November. Their remains were later discovered in Osun State with major body parts removed.

Speaking to journalists, Fajemirokun said he lured the deceased from Ogun to Ijebu-Ijesa in Osun State after a Muslim cleric allegedly told him that Funmilayo had β€œused his glory” and was responsible for his misfortunes. He claimed he believed he needed spiritual cleansing to free himself.

β€œI met one Gboyega Daramola on TikTok. After spiritual consultation, he told me Funmilayo was behind my problems. He instructed me to bring her,” he said.
Fajemirokun admitted taking Funmilayo and her daughter to the bush with Daramola’s men, where the two victims were killed.

One of the herbalists, Sunday James, confessed to killing the victims on the instruction of his boss, saying, β€œWe took them to the bush where we slit their throats. After that, we cut the woman into pieces.”

Daramola, however, denied giving the order for the murder, insisting that Fajemirokun brought the victims for ritual purposes.

Narrating the investigation, Osun State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Gotan, said Fajemirokun was initially reported missing on November 2 after claiming he was going for prayers on a mountain in Ikoyi. Intelligence-led investigations later linked him to the killings.

Gotan said Daramola was arrested on November 16 and confessed that Funmilayo and her daughter were brought to him by Fajemirokun for money rituals. The herbalist also named three other accomplices.

He later led detectives to the Esa-Odo Dam, where Funmilayo’s mutilated body was recovered. Her head, breasts, hands, genitals, and other parts were missing.
On November 20, police arrested Sunday James in Ekiti State; he subsequently led officers to the corpse of Sewa, also found with missing body parts.

The CP added that Fajemirokun fled Nigeria after the killings but was later arrested in Ghana through Interpol collaboration and repatriated to Nigeria.

Gotan said the suspects will be charged to court after the conclusion of investigations, while efforts are ongoing to arrest the remaining accomplices.
