Oyo: Customs ‘ll Enhance Collaboration with Police, Other Security Agencies — Comptroller

The Comptroller of Oyo/Osun Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, Dr Ben Oramalugo, has pledged to enhance further collaboration with the Oyo State Police Command and other security agencies.

In furtherance of this, Comptroller Oramalugo, on Friday, paid a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police, Adebola Hamzat, at the Nigeria Police Force headquarters in Oyo State.

During the visit, according to the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Customs Area Command, Kayode Wey, the Customs boss gave a brief history about the establishment of the Nigeria Police Force and the core functions the agency is saddled with.

Oramalugo pointed out that when all security agencies within the state and the country at large, understood the respective mandates and core functions of each security agency, all forms of rivalry would be curbed easily.

The Customs Area Controller elaborated the core mandates of Nigeria Customs Service, encompassing revenue generation, trade facilitation and suppression of smuggling.

He emphasized the need for the Oyo/Osun Command of the Nigeria Customs service to seek increased collaboration and strengthen the synergy with Oyo Police Command in fulfilling its mandate within the State.

Responding, the Commissioner of Police, Adebola Hamzat, welcomed the Customs Comptroller to the state and expressed his appreciation for the visit.

CP Hamzat assured the Customs Area Controller of his commitment to strengthening the already existing relationship between both security agencies.
