Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen, has deleted Napoli-related posts on his Instagram page.
This is coming after a contentious โmockeryโ video was posted by Napoliโs verified TikTok handle.
As observed by PUNCH Online on Wednesday morning, Osimhenโs Instagram page was left with one post in which he wore a Napoli jersey, while other posts had been deleted.
After criticisms and reactions from Nigerians and social media users, the video, posted on Tuesday on Napoliโs TikTok page, was pulled down.
Osimhen, who was the clubโs top scorer last season as the Parthenopeans won the Scudetto after three decades, missed the penalty that denied Napoli a chance to win all three points against Bologna on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Osimhen could take legal action against Napoli, according to the playerโs agent, Roberto Calenda.
Calenda in a statement released on Tuesday described the video as unacceptable.
The statement read: โWhat happened today on Napoliโs official profile on the TikTok platform is not acceptable. A video mocking Victor was first made public and then, but now belatedly, deleted.
โA serious fact that causes very serious damage to the player and adds to the treatment that the boy is suffering in the last period between media trials and fake news
โWe reserve the right to take legal action and any useful initiative to protect Victor.โ
