The Nigerian film industry has been thrown into mourning as veteran actor Ayobami Olabiyi, popularly known as Bobo B, passed away after a brief illness.

Olabiyi, a respected figure in Nollywood, served as the former Governor of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) in Oyo State and its current national secretary.

According to reports, Olabiyi’s health had been deteriorating, causing him to miss a movie shoot in Oyo State last month.

He was subsequently admitted to the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan, where he sadly succumbed to his illness.

Bose Akinola, current governor of TAMPAN in Oyo State, confirmed Olabiyi’s passing, leaving the film community in shock and grief.

Her statement reads: β€œI have a directive of the Oyo state TAMPAN governor, Her Excellency Yeye Bose Akinola to announce the death of our TAMPAN national general secretary, Chief Alhaji Musadshir Ayobami Olabiyi β€˜Bobo B. May God give his family and the entire TAMPAN members globally the fortitude to bear the loss. Insha Allah, Amen.”

Olabiyi’s contributions to Nollywood and his leadership roles in TAMPAN will be deeply remembered and cherished. His demise is a significant loss to the entertainment industry.

Condolences pour in for the family and colleagues of the late actor. May his legacy live on through his remarkable body of work.
