New CP Vows to Tackle Kidnapping, Cultism in Kwara

The newly posted Commissioner of Police (CP) in Kwara State, Victor Olaiya, has assumed office.

In a statement, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Okasanmi Ajayi, said that the police boss, who hails from Lagos State, assumed office on September 25, 2023.

Addressing the command’s strategic managers, the CP vowed to deal with the monstrous issues of cultism and kidnapping in the state.

He spoke strongly about his determination to deal ruthlessly with all manner of criminals in the state, regardless of their nomenclature.

Olaiya declared his total abhorrence to laziness, negligence, and armchair leadership style.

An adherent of the rule of law using the community policing strategy in line with global best practices, Olaiya was promoted to the enviable rank of Commissioner of Police in March 2023. He was thereafter, deployed as the CP in charge of INEC headquarters in Abuja, from where he was posted as the Commissioner of Police, Kwara State Police Command.

He had his secondary education at CMS Grammar School, Bariga, in Lagos, where he obtained his O-Level certificate.

He is an alumnus of the prestigious University of Lagos with a Bachelor of Arts (B. A.) and Master of Arts (M. A.) degrees in philosophy.”
