December 9, 2023 2 min read

Oba Ajibulu of Onigbedu was yesterday publicly embroiled in conflict with the youth and other citizens of his Onigbedu community.

Hell was left loose in Onigbedu area of Ewekoro local government area of Ogun state Friday when the traditional ruler, Oba Matthew Ajibulu,p engaged in open fight with youths in the area over land matters.

Residents were agape as to how the traditional ruler allowed such issues to degenerate to open fracas between him and the youths.

Oba Ajibulu was one of the Obas installed by Gov Daniel in December 2010 after Oba Olowu Dosunmu had earlier crowned Alhaji Yekini Akinmade, a petroleum marketer as Oba Onigbedu, in March 2006.

It would be recalled that Oba Ajibulu had been in one controversy or the other, particularly on land matters and restlessness with the youths in the environment.

A senior monarch who chose to remain anonymous said: ”This is desecration of traditional stool as Oba fights in public, spraying some substance unidentified on his opponents.”

For now, it is not confirmed if police have been called in to mediate in the dispute as royal fathers in the area felt embarrassed by situation of things concerning one of their own, Newdawnngr.com sources revealed.

Neither the Divisional Police Officer nor the Divisional Crime Officer in charge of Itori responded to calls to their numbers nor replied the text message sent to them to comment on the incident as at the time of filing this report.
