Lagos Demolition: Show Your Approved Building Plan Or Shut Up, Omokri Tells Aggrieved Home Owners

November 30, 2023 1 min read

Social critic and aide to former President Goodluck Johnathan, Reno Omokri, has challenged those complaining about the on-going demolition of illegal structures in Lagos State to show their approved building plan.

He called on those reading ethnic motives to the demolition to prove their claim by producing their approved plans.

Full tweet below:

Almost a month after the Lagos State Government began demolishing illegal and unapproved buildings, not a single person has published an approved building plan or Certificate of Occupancy. Instead, what some people are saying is, β€˜It is because we are Igbos’. Please publish your approved building plan or Certificate of Occupancy, and I will harass Governor Sanwo-Olu and do everything I can to make this demolishing exercise end immediately. But if you do not have an approved building plan or Certificate of Occupancy, accept that you are a criminal, irrespective of where you come from.

Reno Omokri

And if you don’t like Lagos, you can go and build buildings without approved building plans or Certificates of Occupancy anywhere else. Good luck to you.
