The immediate past Minister of Science and Technology in the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, has passed away.

The former governor of Abia State breathed his last after a brief illness at a hospital in Nigeria.
Dr Oni, 72, was a renowned Nigerian politician, author, and engineer until his passing in April 2024.
He made headlines during the 2023 general election when he contested for the presidential ticket of the All Progressive Congress (APC), ultimately losing to President Bola Tinubu.
