Fayose Urges Tinubu to Auction Excess Dollars in Former Governors’ Accounts

February 2, 2024 1 min read

Isaac Fayose, brother to a former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has called on President Bola Tinubu to order that no individual should have more than $1,000 in their domiciliary accounts as one of the ways of addressing naira’s free fall.

In a video posted on his official Facebook account, the younger Fayose said the President should be ready to auction the dollars in excess of $1,000 in the accounts of former governors, including his brother.

He said, β€œThe President should come to the television, addressing Nigerians and order that any private domiciliary account that has more than $1,000 will be seized or auctioned and replaced with naira.

β€œAll individuals, including myself, my brother and all the former governors that have dollars stored, auction their dollars and change it to naira.”
