Pa Ayo Fasoranti, leader of Afenifere, has expressed deep sadness over the passing of Chief Samuel Ayodeji Adebanjo.

This was contained in a press statement signed by Chief Dr R. F Fasoranti ( OFR)
(The Asiwaju Yoruba and The Leader of Afenifere) made available to The Yoruba Times on Friday.

He described Adebanjo as a brother, comrade, and political associate of over 70 years.

He said, “It is with great sadness that I received the news of the passing into glory of Chief Samuel Ayodeji Adebanjo, my brother, comrade-in-arms and political associate for upwards of 70 years.

“His contributions during the struggle for Nigeria’s independence as well as during struggles for the restoration and sustenance of democracy in Nigeria shall remain indelible in the annals of Nigeria’s history. He was an unrelenting ideologue who fought for many noble causes under the auspices of Afenifere where he was once the Acting Leader.” He stated.

The statement also emphasized that “Members of Afenifere family will greatly miss this fallen hero.”

“Adebanjo’s contributions to Nigeria’s independence and democracy will be remembered”, Fasoranti said.

He praised Adebanjo’s commitment to progressive politics, good governance, and the protection of Nigerians’ rights.

Fasoranti prayed for God to grant Adebanjo’s family the strength to bear the loss.
